I have been doing good. I am on brand name lamictal.

Unfortnatly I have discovered obviously I was doing good looking back because I was doing nothing but resting.

Last night I went to my church group, alot of people... we sat around firepit in the dark.. and there went the partial seizures. I had to go inside and miss out, plus I felt guilty.

now Im wondering if actually the medication has no effect and wondering if the right medication would ever allow me to be around many conversations and the firepit etc.

Seeing the neuro on tuesday. Will keep you updated.. anyone have any ideas ?

BTW lamictal brand name, and I thought I was doing great, until I plucked up the courage to step out there and do something.. hence my horrid experience.

I went through a phase where I wondered the same thing about my meds. Even on 3 different meds I still had daily seizures (still do) I decided that the meds weren't doing anything so I cut sugar out of my diet & stopped taking my meds. That was when I had my first ever convulsion & let me tell you..... it was more embarrassing & humiliating than the partials I had.

Personally I would try to see what was different that might have triggered the seizure.

Vapour,

Sorry you had that uninvited seizure. There is no need to feel guilty. Could the flickering lights from the firepit have caused the seizure? Keep up the courage and go out and enjoy life, despite epilepsy. DON'T let epilepsy control you! Like Epileric said, convulsive seizures are much more humiliating than partial seizures, and I've been through them all.
