I am sorry arnie but Brazil will not win they will be lucky to get past this stage, tell your wife sorry from me and I like Brazil. I hope Germany beat France by about 20 - 0 that would make me happy even though I do not like Germany. Ya Costa Rica did good and like you said have definitely surprised everyone.

Me I think the USA were fantastic especially Tim Howard but do not forget Bradley and Besler in defense, my second favorite is Jones how he keep going espically in the last game and the tackles he put in but most of all how did he keep getting up. Then my favorite Clint DEMPSEY a fantastic player. Not all the time defensive.
 
Well Germany are through to the semi, they beat France 1 - 0 it was not a good game.

This should be Brazil's night, but Columbia could give them a hard time, I think it will be Brazil 2 - Columbia 1
 
Brazil are through but what a terrible game. I seen school boys play better football.
 
Well, Liam, you were right about the score. I thought both teams played OK, but Brazil is gonna have to kick it up a notch or two if they want to get past Germany. I hope Neymar is OK. He really took a hard hit there.

Now to see if CR can pull it off against the Netherlands. On paper, probably not, but on paper they never would have won the second game, maybe not even the first, and would never have made it out of their group in first place!

That's a real tragedy about Neymar. I hope he can play again.

There should have been two red cards before that as well, thats what I mean about the refs, not a good game by any standard. I do not think CR will win its not that they are not able to its just the Netherlands are good, not great but good, and the most important they are lucky.

The thing with Brazil is they actually are a good team on paper but they do not play as a team arnie and your right they will have to kick it up a notch or two more like two. Its the same for Argentina though (they are not good) but they have messi and he is what has them where they are so far, without him Argentina would be gone long ago.

I am hoping the Netherlands win looking at all the teams and the games they played, I think they deserve it.
 
I think Germany is coasting. I think they are waiting for the team they are going to meet in the finals.
Could be Brazil, with "home field advantage".
Everybody else is playing their hearts out, but like in any sport, the refs are not good.

Anyway, wait till next time. Perhaps we will get some more experienced players and a better coach. Maybe better refs, when all the countries complain enough. Perhaps add an additional ref to keep an eye on the riff-raff?

No problem you are welcome, I do not know why they make things complicated. All you need to know for the game is offside, fouls, throw ins, you will enjoy it with these.

Germany is coasting, you are right about that. I think they will meet the Netherlands. A few new refs would not go astray. Good idea about the aditional ref or a television ref like rugby.
 
Argentina has scored and what a goal, I know it got a deflection but di María took the shot first time.

That is not blind luck for a "bloody Yank" :roflmao: its good predictions from watching the games. Anyway us leprechauns have an advantage.
 
I read an article about Neymar's injury and they called it the result of a "collision" between Neymar and Zuniga. Collision my a--! It was an attack! Zuniga should have gotten a red card and probably should be charged with assault. (I know that won't happen, but Zuniga was waaaay out of bounds.) He had better have bodyguards if he goes anywhere in Brazil. I doubt the Brazilians are too happy with him.
