This is very sad, no matter who you wanted to win. It's sad and humiliating for Brazil, and also pretty much of a hollow "victory" for Germany, since they are clearly not playing against the real Brazil. I hope Germany has the grace not to run the score up any more. That would not make anyone look good. Sad, indeed, for Brazil. I hope there is no violence in the country because of this, but I don't think I would want to be there now.

I totally agree with you, if Germany have any grace they will not run the score up more, what a hollow victory this is I thought it might be 1 - 0 to Germany but nothing like this, hopefully there will be no violence there tonight.
 
At least it's still 5-0 at 61 min. I can't watch the game live so I just rely on updates from the internet and friends. I wonder if Brazil will be able to even get 1 goal. That would be better than a complete shutout.

Arnie I would have said yes they will but not now, Germany are just cutting through Brazil. Fred has been taken off and I would say he is thankful considering the booing he has got. Brazil cannot even pass the ball to there own players they have given it to Germany more times. Germany have not even left second gear yet in this game.
 
Its 7 - 0 what in Gods name was david luiz doing. There will be trouble in Brazil tonight, imagine the Brazilian fans are leaving. I have never been so disappointed in a team.

Germany have made a bad situation worse and in doing so have made themselves look bad. Germany are just playing with them at this stage.
 
Oscar has scored for Brazil, Brazil got a consolation goal.
 
I am so sorry for Brazil getting beat like that I just cannot understand what happened to Brazil.
 
Brazil did throw in the towel somewhere between the second goal and halftime.
The two best players were out.

Today's game should be more interesting.
So who's better, Messi or Robben?
 
What a strange game. What happened to make Brazil crumble so quickly?
 
My wife told me that the coach, for some unknown reason, had changed much of the lineup. Apparently some of the best players were on the bench, and David had been moved to midfield, and other changes I don't remember. What was that all about?

I have no idea what Scolari was thinking, I mean he has good players who play for the top clubs in the world, he made a mess putting Luiz in midfield instead of defense where he belongs, the back four were a shambles they never marked who they were supposed to and let everybody in, you needed the like of Silva there to tell them what to do but he got himself sent off. Your wife is right he put the wrong team out, left some players at home and others on the bench.

There is no comparison between Messi and Robbin, Messi can win the game on his own and will if the Netherlands do not mark him no matter how bad he plays but if he is on form you can give most of the team a rest. He is the reason Argentina are playing tonight.
 
Thanks for the explanation Liam. I can only see the game on the Spanish language station so I miss out on the nuances and the commentary.

Nothing against the Netherlands, but I'm rooting for Argentina so that it's not an all-Europe final...

Whats wrong with an all Europe final, the Netherlands are nice people you would like them and the food is good. We will have to have a chat about you and Europe, only joking my friend.
