I wish I still did my journal

Years ago I had one, and I updated it every day- well, tried to update it every day anyway.

I just ran out of stuff to say eventually.... trying to get back in to it though.

I have a journal on here which I need to update at some point.. I think I was going to do it yesterday but I had a seizure in the early afternoon which sort of made me want to do nothing but rest and stare at nothing in particular

By the time I felt better it was time for bed anyway. lol
Take all the time you need🫂

One last brag about my hometown. It is also the home of author Henry David Thoreau and Lake Walden. We have 4 season’s so the trees change color. This is my favorite time of year. I also fish at Walden.
That sounds absolutely beautiful! To live in the same place as the author of Walden must be pretty special for you. 🍂✨ The changing colors of the trees looks like such a sight to see especially during autumn. Nature in Nigeria is quite different since we don’t experience the four seasons. I’d love to visit a place like yours someday.

Fishing at Lake Walden must be so peaceful! Do you have a favorite memory or spot there?

OWHEN did you delete some posts?

I ask because it says you quoted two of my posts in this same thread and I can only find one. (I'm using the alerts section)

Honestly I’m still acclimatizing to this forum, still not up to speed to how some of the stuffs work on here, so I might have, I wouldn’t know. But I did reply to a few of your comments

I get into listening to the 1970's music along with writing short stories or poems. I also get on
the ham radio and talk to people all over the world. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You,

Sue
Wow, Sue, that’s such an amazing mix of hobbies! Listening to 70’s music must bring back a lot of nostalgia and inspiration for your stories and poems.
I’ve never tried using a ham radio before, it must feel so surreal talking to people from all over the world like that.
Is there a particular genre of music or topic that inspires your writing the most? And thank you so much for the kind wishes. Sending the very same to you 💜

Hi eninOWHEN,

I like ham radio because I can use it to make phone calls and the internet all for free along with talking to people all over
the world except China and the Middle East.
As far as my poems and short stories they are basically about friendship, love and togetherness. I started writing when I
was 12 yrs. old I've got 72 record albums here in my home from the 1970's and early 1980's I found out that the one album
I have Xanadu is worth $10 grand. My brother in law is a audio engineer and he works with Collin Raye and I've meant
him and I gave him a poem that I wrote and he wanted to make it into a song and I said sure but his publisher didn't think
it was good enough. You should get into ham radio I bet you would make a lot of friends. Wishing you only the best
of luck and May God Bless You!

Sue

Hi Sue,

That’s so cool! Ham radio sounds like an amazing way to connect with people globally, like an old-school version of the internet. I don’t think we have much of it here in Nigeria, but I love the idea of it.
Wow, a $10 grand album! That’s incredible. must be quite the collector’s piece
And to think you’ve even met Collin Raye and had your poem considered for a song! It’s truly inspiring that you started writing so young and have continued to nurture that passion.
While I haven’t explored poetry much myself, I’ve always found it such a beautiful way to express thoughts and emotions. What inspires you to write? And do you still write as much as you did before?

Wishing you all the best too, and may you continue to find joy in what you do. 😊

As a kid I took swimming lessons at Walden.
I keep thinking about how I’m talking about the leaves. Meanwhile you could have elephants roaming around. 🤣

I have always loved numbers & math. I love to sew--but not clothes. I enjoy piecing quilts and doing counted cross stitch, actually. Quilt piecing is all geometry. I also enjoy doing word or number puzzles (not sudoku, though), and jigsaw puzzles. I also make barrettes and beaded lanyards for eyeglasses.
I enjoy listening to country music

Wow, you do have lots of hobbies. It’s interesting your love for numbers and geometry. I don’t know much about quilting myself. But I can imagine it must be calming for you and simulating as well.
And country music too? Nice! What are some of your favorite artists?

I like to listen to music, sing and dance to it. A good bit of times cleaning the house while I'm doing it it great.

I've been having an influence on here musically, what's your favorite genre? Hopefully we can bond with music too😁✌️🏿

I really enjoy listening to many of the of the older singers/groups & songs. Some of the artists I like include Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, Randy Travis, Alan Jackson & George Strait. Some groups I like are Highway 101, Alabama, & Shenandoah. I like many of the newer singers/groups, too, but unless there's a radio station where I can listen to them, I can't.

I totally get what you mean Kenny Rogers was one of my mom’s favorites too, so I grew up listening to his music a lot. I’m curious, do you have a smartphone or access to streaming platforms like Spotify or YouTube Music? They’ve made it easier for me to discover and enjoy older classics and newer artists. It could be a way for you to find even more music you might love, especially if the radio options are limited where you are.
