I had brain surgery at age 10, with scarring on the right motor skills portion of my brain, I've needed to take meds for the last 16 years. Currently I'm on 500mg of Zonegran at night and have gone from 100mg to 200mg of Lamictal XR in the past week.
Over the past six months I have had considerably less control over my life, which I feel guilty to bring here, because I read some of the posters here and feel very sorry for your situations.
At most I would suffer one or two tonic-clonics a year. I played high school football at 300lbs and weighed as much in college. Drank very heavily in college, but only had two seizures in four years.
In 2006, I started losing weight and in 2007 I took a job at Notre Dame weighing 220. By New Years Day 2008 i was 170 pounds. From 2008 to 2009, I had two seizures.
In 2009, I had a handful but they all came after nights of binge drinking, so as of July 2009 I quit drinking. Felt great right up to January, where I have had a tonic-clonic every month, some I was able to stop with Ativan post feeling auras. Now I get jolts in my left side, auras, lose focus, while I am talking completly lose train of thought. I thought the last two months which have been the worst was due to a possible addiction to the Ativan, and just let the jolts and auras go by. I ended up having a seizure at the local gym this week.
I will be visiting with my neurologist this week, but I need to find a way to get back to normalcy. I've worked out from 2006 to 2010 and can't see that being the trigger, maybe a part, but not the trigger. I take three suppliments Dark Matter, Up Your Mass and TRAC-NO. I have been taking all three of these for more than two years. I can't post links but you can check them out on MHP's website.
I do not do any steroids, drink or do any drugs that arent prescribed for seizure control. I don't know what to do to go back to getting rid of these issues. Please help.
