What medicines do you take if you get the flu? I can't take the flu shot because I've had bad reaction to it in the past. My husband has been exposed to the flu & if he gets it I get it. Any suggestions appreciated.
 
 
Hi Emee,
The flu is a virus and the only way to beat it is to keep your immune system healthy with good nutrition and exercise while avoiding exposure to the virus.

If you do catch the flu, Tamiflu can help shorten the healing time by a couple days.
 
Hi Emee,

I take Aleve for cold and sinus but if you are taking high blood pressure med you can't take it. I've had the flu a few times and I've found drinking a lot of hot tea and other hot fluids along with rest was the best way to get rid of the flu. I also clean the house down with Clorox wipes or windex to get rid of the bacteria and germs. Hope you feel better soon. May God Bless You!

I had a bad reaction to the flu shoot the last time I got it as well, I have a bad flu now for two weeks and can take nothing or eat right.
 
Sometimes if you ask your neuro or pharmacist about what meds you are able to try or could take are good.
 
I had shot...just got over norva virus and that bad enough..if you a Brit you stand good chance of that at moment.yep flu nasty only had true flu about twice very different from cold.my son is a doctor and won't have jab on other hand dughtrinlaw speech therapist and has shot.they both exposed to it.Son says healthy veggi diet and bad luck if get it.When I in NZ they took manuka honey and has be pure manuka it is expensive but I inclined think something in it.i have that and garlic clove cider viniger washed down with follow up of milk hold on to stomach it takes some doing but touch wood no flu
