WASHINGTON — A voluntary recall was issued Friday for nearly 2 million Summer Infant video baby monitors after being linked to the strangulation deaths of two infants in the U.S.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says the electrical cords on the monitors can be dangerous for babies if placed too close to their cribs.

Some of the monitors were sold in Canada but the company couldn't say how many.
