I am getting so forgetful. I know it is rampant with everyone on the forum. I am at work and I don't remember taking my meds. I see that the AM half of my weekly container is empty. I must have taken them. Since I am starting to feel drowsy, woozy, drunk, off balance and so on; I probably took them. More and more I am writing notes to myself on my hand and arm. My students suggested that I have notebook paper lines tattooed on my hand and arm. Might be worth considering.

Off to get caffeine; know I shouldn't but I am going to. This new med combo seems to mostly keep everything at bay. I will give the side effects til Friday. Next week I have to teach again and can't fall asleep in front of my teen-aged students.

writing notes to yourself is the best thing when you have a poor memory.
The pill box is a good idea I have one. You can also ask people to help remind you about stuff. writing things down to help remember even if u think u will remember.:twocents:

I prefer less caffeine. I drink an energy drink. I know, I know. Lots of sugar, but less caffeine and more B vitamins.

As Belinda said, keep little note pads around so you can remind yourself. I also have a pill box with daily morning, noon, eve, and bedtime places for my pills. That way it is easier to see whether I did or did NOT take my pills.

Lots of sugar?
Lots of sugar can lead to Type 2 Diabetes, be careful. Too much caffeine can cause headaches and depression. Either one is not good for the body.

I'm not suggesting lots of sugar. What I drink HAS lots of sugar. Not as much caffeine as multiple coffees or sodas. ;)

I always lose the pieces of paper.

I try limit/avoid caffeine, sugar, wheat, and oats.

If my body doesn't adjust before this Friday, I will have to call and get my meds rearranged again. For the most part the combo I am on seems to be working - minor lip tingles and bugs and less intense feeling like my arm is going to twitch (my before it happens warning sign).

I never knew that, thanks for the input. ive been on a pot of coffee a day . no wonder im a mess.lol

Smart phone with lots of reminders, day before, hour before, five mins before!

My morning meds reminder also goes off half hour later and says 'did you rearly? Sure you weren't distracted by something shiny or a squirrel'.

If I lose the phone I am fecked.

No the "squirrel" is one of my coworkers. I have simple and complex partials. Probably one of those sneaky and don't remember or know what I am doing complex partials. I don't even remember taking the pill box out of my bag. It is like it just magically appeared on my desk.

I have trouble getting words out sometimes, both word finding and just plain uttering the word correctly. Example of one that happened today: I was trying to say the word "kind", and no matter what the word kept coming out as "tind". I was speaking to someone I didn't know, so after the 3rd attempt I just let it ride; they could jolly well use context to figure out the word I was really trying to say :)

My memory is awful even when i'm on the up and up. I always have to count my meds, and the AM/PM thing just gets lost. The tattoo idea is a great idea, i'd do it!

I already have one on that arm. "Look at me know my tranquility and strength". I got after one year in remission from cancer and after 6 months of epilepsy. It is on the inside of my left forearm where I can read it; it is my reminder to find my center and breathe. There isn't much room for anything else.

My memory is about shot!

I've got a calendar in the house and a pocket on in my purse that everything going in is wrote in. Very important stuff is highlighted. I've got post its all over the house to remind me about things. I write stuff down in note books that I need to know. I try to do everything when I first think about or I won't remember to do it or what it was that I needed to remember.

I do this on my phone so I make sure that I remember what's going on. I don't know what I'd do without it either!

I never thought about putting in the 'did you really' in there. That's great!!! There have been several times when I'm in the middle of something and the alarm will go off at med time. I'll turn the alarm off and tell myself "I'll take my meds after I'm done doing the dishes". Then an hour later I'll see my pill case with the meds still in it.

I have a terrible time trying to say words. I know exactly what I want to say but I don't know what the word is. Some good examples are - the furry things that run around the house (the cats), the hot thing you cook food in (the oven), the really cold thing that makes ice (the freezer) and so on.

The best was on the phone with customer support one time because I was having trouble with the tv. I was having the worst time trying to figure out what the words were that I wanted to say. They all involved the tv like remote, screen, power cord, number buttons and so many more. I can only imagine what the guy I was talking to thought about me when were done? Did manage to get things fixed though!

I use the am/pm pill container and alarms on my phone so I don't forget my meds. These have worked and I haven't missed a dose in a long time. As far as the forgetfulness, I can't do anything about it and it's gotten really bad since they upped lamictal. Like masterJen, I fumble over words frequently, and it's common words that I use everyday. There is also the running into walls, tripping over nothing, and being constantly tired. My doc never said it would be easy!
