I posted earlier today about strange behaviour after seizure. One thing I've been wondering about that makes me think it was a full blown seizure is I have bruises on my body & sore places on my hands & face. I can't figure out where I would have gotten those. Do you get physical injuries during a seizure? Sorry I have so many questions. It is such a puzzle to me. I do pass out often from low BP & have after effects of that but this is different. As you know very depressing. thanks again.

Hello, Emee. Yes, you CAN get physically injured during seizures. I had only simple partial seizures (petit mals) from childhood until I was about 26 years old--then complex partials began as well. Those have been VERY troublesome AND dangerous for me. I have burned myself SEVERELY--second & third degree--MULTIPLE times. The first time was in in our condo, & my hubby was sleeping just down the hall--15 feet away. I have also fallen and hurt myself, giving myself bruises. What has been a headache for me is that these occur without ANY aura, & sometimes EVEN after I've taken my meds. I keep a record of ALL my seizures, their time, & length. If no witness was there to tell me what happened, I note what's different around me (that is the only way I know I've had one if alone, other than injury).

Overall, I have noticed that tension & stress cause my seizures to increase EVEN after meds. Another thing that affects me a lot is my sleep/wake timing is VERY mixed up. I can stay up late 1 or 2 nights in a row, but past that, & I'll begin having seizures.
I'm on 300mg Xcopri & 500mg Zonisamide/day.
