Just found out today at my neuro apt that my VNS battery is dead so I'll be getting a new VNS soon. This one has helped me a lot so I hope the new one will too!

Best of luck! Let us know how it goes. I will be meeting with my surgeon a week from tomorrow (the 13th) to discuss getting mine placed.

The new VNS is smaller and lasts longer. As stated in another post, I had my latest VNS surgery this past April. The surgery went well and I've only had several auras.

Hope yours goes well, too, Valerie.

Good luck Valerie. Any idea when they'll go ahead with it?

My neuro said that the hospital should be calling soon to set up the apt for the surgery date. He said since the battery is completely dead that they will get on it pretty quick.

He did say the battery's last longer in the newer models however it depends on what the settings are. If it's set low, the battery lasts longer. If it's set high (which mine is) the battery won't last as long but it should be longer than what this one did.

Hope everything goes well with you too arnie!

The only bad thing now though is my husband is afraid to take me out of the house because I don't have the VNS to use.

I's gone out within the last 4 months because that's when my last apt was. Who knows it could have been dead for 4 months or only a week?

On Saturday we're going to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra and they have a huge light show during the performance. Lights never bothered me before or after the VNS so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Good luck with the 2nd VNS Valerie.
Enjoy the Trans - Siberian Orchestra, fingers crossed you enjoy it with no worries.

Just got back from seeing Trans - Siberian Orchestra and had no problems :bjump:
