I saw a neuropsychologist today and it went great. My medications is finally working and I feel way more with it. Hopefully this stays as a consistent. :woot:

I think I really found a someone who will be able to help me balance out the stuff I have to work with. I feel that things are finally moving forward and im on the right track.

I guess my advice to anyone who is in limbo with their seizures is to see a neuro psyche. More so then a regular psyche, because it was so much easier for them to understand what going on.

Thanks for the recommendations from my friends on CWE and all the knowledge you've given me.

Yay! You deserve some good karma MTF.

I'm thrilled that you've found success with this doctor! I knew she would help you! She helped me and I knew she would do the same for you! Heck I got off earlier from messaging you and was so happy I was clapping, singing around the house! :roflmao: I kept thinking about you all day long, thinking how it was going for you! I had to hold myself back from wanting to messaging you all day long! :noevil: :roflmao:

Muay,
Great to hear your appt with the neuropsych went well :).
I've mentioned on here a few times that I have a neuropsych who has been a huge support to me for the last 2 1/2 years. I usually only see the neuropsych when I go to the city for my follow up appts with the neurologist at the epilepsy clinic but I email my neuropsych on a regular basis (updates on how I'm going, any issues I have) & she always emails me back with a response.

Good news for you, Muay. I hope it keeps going your way.

I, too, was seeing a neuropsychologist and a neuropsychiatrist for a while to get things under control and they helped me get back on track, too. I am happy for you since you've suffered long enough. Time for a break for you!!!

I love hearing things like this. :). I'm very happy for you Muay.

I'm way out of the loop here. What is the role of a neuropsychologist in dealing with E? They don't really seem to be involved at the hospital I go to, except in assisting the neurosurgeon do testing prior to surgery.

Good to hear things are looking good Tony and its about time.

A neuropsychologist or neuropsychiatrist specializes in the links between neurological disorders and behavior and cognition. With epilepsy, that means they study how seizures affect the way someone with epilepsy thinks and remembers.

They can help you if you're struggling with the way epilepsy (esp. partial seizures) messes with your brain. They can also administer tests that measure your memory and cognitive functioning. The tests are useful for setting a baseline so you can gauge what effect (if any) the seizures or medications may be having on your cognitive abilities. If there are problem areas, the neuropsych can make recommendations for things like treatments, techniques, and workarounds that can help.

Very Happy for you my friend! You deserve it! TEARS AND EXCITEMENT OF JOY!
Stay awesome! :D
