Diagnosis is confirmed. Focal epilepsy. Generalised seizures.
Mixed emotions right now. Dose has been increased again. Talk of adding another medication to go with it if needs be. I was kind of expecting it after her last letter but it still shocked me I think.
Given contact details for epilepsy nurse to ring her if I have a seizure. Review with her in 6 months if I don't speak to her in the meantime.

I suppose in one way its good in one way. But I am sorry your going to have to deal with this as for the epilepsy nurse - well it just me. Best of luck with this.

Hopefully they will find the right med to fully control your seizures.

Wonder will your epilepsy nurse keep a record of all your seizures - she could keep record for you and you to and you can compare :) ? And what advise he/she will have for you?

Sorry about the diagnoses. But at least this way maybe you can get the right combination of meds to help you. I will be thinking of you.

"Congrats" about the diagnosis. :(
I hope one med will do the trick, and that there will be no side effects whatsoever. Keep us posted.

Thanks all.
I'm going through the whole. what if im out alone and it happens - how will people know its epilepsy? I'm sure i dont need to worry about it. If it was in a store they would probably ring 999 if they knew or not. might be helpful for paramedics to know mind you. Hey-ho. Ill think of something.
Apparently I met my nurse last time I was admitted. But, I do not remember this. So if i cant remember her being horrid i assume this is a good thing!

On one hand, it's not a diagnosis you want to hear but on the other hand, it's a relief to have a diagnosis & know that doctors can't say it's not actual epilepsy. I'm hoping to have a diagnosis on my next eeg, it's tough not knowing.

cherriuz, my sister was diagnosed with focal epilepsy a few yrs back and hers weren't under control at all at first but our dr. worked hard and she says she is seizure free,me on the other hand mine is generalized E and complicated.best of luck!
