I have always had fine hair, but a lot of it..until now.

I always put root lifter and mouse and volum. shampoo and I could manage my hair with no problem.

My problem now is that my hair has changed in texture, now it is so flat.
I can not even get it to go around my curling brush. After hour of curling and using my hair spray.. there is goes ..FLAT again.

I am also noticeing so thinning.

I'm 60 years old and I know a lot goes with aging..BUT MY HAIR:bigmouth:

I always had bone strait hair. After I was diagnosed with epilepsy it has curl in it, out of no where. It's not a really tight curl, like you would have if you were to get a perm, but if I put some gel in it I can wear it that way and it looks good. In order to fix it strait I have to blow it dry with a brush then use a curling iron to flatten out the curl/wave that the brush didn't straiten out. I asked my hair dresser if she had ever heard of this happening and she said that she has.

I know that others have said that some meds do cause hair to thin and maybe start to fall out when they take them.

I've been noticing something similar to such a point that I'm considering chopping all of my hair off and that's big for me since out hasn't been short for 15 years! Mine will still hold curl but even then seems lifeless.

My hair was falling out when I first started on Lamictal. But that eventually stopped. The texture seems to be thicker and less "brushable" than it used to be -- don't know if I can blame the meds or just aging.

If I'm correct everything that we take medic. vitamins --everything goes to our hair. I've tried to think what have I change, the only things are the compunded vit. (B6, B12, Folic Acid Vit. D and calcium)
I've also added fish oil and prime rose oil. all of these I've added within the last 6 to 7 months. I wouldn't think these have anything to do with this.

I guess it's the aging well I'm off to the wig store.

My hair used to be kind of poofy and got tangled easy. It definitely changed texture to smoother and wavy. But I'm trying to think if this coincided with starting meds. I had poofy hair until at least high school, but I started taking Tegretol when I was 20 and I don't remember if my hair had tamed by then or if it was because of the meds.

My hair has always been thick and I've never noticed a difference in texture. The only issue I have is that it falls out when I shampoo, brush, and pull my hair back. I deal with it, though, it must not be that bad.

I used to have fine hair, but a lot of it. My hair is still fine, but it's thinned out quite a bit, all over, but especially at the crown of my head - not sure why? I know what you mean by flat hair though - mine has definitely flattened. I know a lot of people, doctors, etc... want to blame it on aging (I'm 47), but every one else in my family, even those older than me, still have a decent head of hair and some volume. Mine looks pathetic.
