Has anyone "felt different" if you happen to be late on taking your E medication(s)?

I ask this because Ive been noticing that if I dont keep my medications 12 hours apart, and happen to be an hour late on taking them, (like in the mornings, when Im most sleepy) My body starts to get tingling and numbness in my lower body. I felt it this morning, and noticed I was alittle late on taking my medications. After taking my meds, I noticed about half an hour after taking my meds, that the numbness and tingling feelings started to go away.

I've never experienced any numbness or tingling with seizures prior to my VEEG. So, Im sure it has something to do with being taken off all my medications and only being put back on one, along with getting on a new medication too.

I am just hoping and praying that the 50mgs of Vimpat will work! My last doctor, the first one I saw a couple years back, (im now seeing his partner) said as long as I was controlled with medications and was having no seizures, then I'd be stuck with medications the rest of my life. But if I was a patient who couldnt get my seizures under control with medications, then they would look into me being a possible surgery candidate.

Its been years since Ive experienced a side effect that caused me to be moody, angry and feeling like crap! I think I was around the age of 13 or so? Im about to be 30! YIKES! I just never want to experience that again! Today has been better for me though! Its my second day being on the 50mgs of Vimpat and I havnt had any crying spells or angry outbursts! :)

I'm thinking that the numbness is from the med change, rather than a seizure, as it seems near constant, but fluxuates a tad (as your meds are absorbed) my guess is its the vimpat as that is your newest change in regime.

The only other thing I can think of was withdrawl, as withdrawl from any frug cold turkey can cause side effects that last a long time.

Yeah the withdrawal from Carbatral came to my mind.... but its been over a month now since Ive stopped taking it, and I noticed since starting the Vimpat, its gone away somewhat, but now decreasing the vimpat dosage, its starting to become more frequent. I guess it could be a combination of the two.... getting off the carbatral and now decreasing the Vimpat.

Can i ask how do you deal with the fatigue???how long does toke your body to adjust to keppra after each increasment??

im only on 250bid when i tried to go to 750 i barely could go to work and since im studiying i can't deal with the increasment right now!!

p.s=I don't think the keppra doing problems with cognitive functions such as concentration and memory but rather the fatigue itself which makes you like a mini zombie from all the tiredness

Ive been on Keppra for over 10 years now, so I cant recall exacly what it was like when I first started. I know when I was switched over to the Keppra XR in November of 2010 It didnt affect me. I chalked it up to me being on the regular Keppra for so long, that switching to the Keppra XR, didnt have any side effects for me. The only thing different, was that my headaches and migraines I had with Keppra, went away with the Keppra XR! :)

Good to know,If i ever have a chance to take keppra XR i will!!

In my Country we still don't have keppra XR,i think regular keppra have really short half life, and the xr version is probebly much better.

Do you know by any chance what is the half life of keppra XR??
