I had a video EEG done earlier this year and much to my surprise found that my heart stops during my seizures. my Dr says it is rare but it happens to some people.
Before I left the hospital a cardialogist put what he called a heart loop moniter in my chest right beside my VNS and I download information via phone every month to him from it.
I don't know if it happens during every seizure or not.
Does this happen to anyone else?

yup, if you are conscious,
breathe. if not, hope for the best.
it leaves your chest hurting if it last for to long

tkopi,

Big hug. I'm wishing I could wave a wand and make it go away for you.

Is your cardiologist doing anything else but just watching?

Do you live alone? Sleep alone? Have you thought about getting a service dog that can dial 911 if you have a seizure? There are special home phones and cell phones with a giant red button for that purpose.

I live alone and sleep alone. I've been a bachilore my whole life of 48yrs and have had seizures for 40 of them. The good thing is in 3 weeks Aug. 21st I am having grid surgery done and hopefully getting these things under control.
So far my cardiologist is just keeping an eye on things. He didn't seem to worried about things because after my last appointment with him he had me schedule an appointment in a year so he must be happy with the information being sent to him every month.

Tkopi, that sounds very scary. Many good thoughts and prayers to you. I hope the surgery will indeed be the answer.
