My name is Tiffany, mother to a beautiful 11 year old daughter diagnosed with absence seizures over 2 years ago. Once again, I have insomnia trying to find help for her after going through this for so many years. She has so many issues such as learning problems, obsessive/compulsive issues, suicidal thoughts, I can go on and on. It is hard to separate whether these may be symptoms of her disorder or separate issues. She is medication free now as the medications made her an insomniac, aggressive and hostile. It wasn't worth watching her personality wither away for the sake of her doing better in school. They don't do much to help her in school despite epilepsy foundation's recommendations on treating these kids. She is going to a new neuropsychologist next week. So frustrating trying to get her the proper care she needs.
