The epilepsy society has a legal referral service for people with epilepsy. It's maybe not as quick as you need it, so you could call the epilepsy society, too, and ask for help.

Here's the website: http://epilepsyfoundation.org/epilepsylegal/legalinfoctr.cfm

Here's the phone number: (800) 332-1000

If it were me, I'd have your husband's doctor write a letter outlining your husband's condition and what happened, and why. Ask your doc to describe what a seizure is like, what your husband is like after seizures, how long it lasts, and what you do to keep the family safe and to cope. The doctor is the one that will provide the objective information that the court will believe. Then you can call the court and ask for a hearing to get the protection order removed, ASAP. Go to the court appointment with the letter.

Is child protective services involved? Because that gets harder.

If they don't listen to the circumstances, then get a good lawyer. You may have a big settlement coming if you sue them for discrimination. I'm guessing because of this possiblity the courts/city/police will listen and work together with you on this.

Don't take any rubbish from the Peelers, frugalpenny - I know things are different coz I'm in UK but not enough folk have it in the psyche that they're working for you!!

heartfelt thanks

thanks to all who helped me with some new info. I have already read some stuff in forum to kind of jumpstart my words.

I am especially thankful to learn of the lawyers and will be definitely pursuing that. Thank you thank you.

No child protective services involved. Just make it impossible for me to see him and we take care of each other so being without is very distressing. Been 11 years together.
