I just wanna say hello, and let ya know I am alive, lol. How is everyone doing? I do think of you all often, even when I dont get the chance to get on here and check in. I also have a question, as ALWAYS.lol I have stopped taking my meds because they stopped making me feel better. Like they just stopped being as effective as they were.

I am ok, I have my moments of feeling really weird, but I felt the same on the meds, like there is no difference. My mind is never really clear, and I wonder why. I dont seem to be having the seizures, but my mind hasnt been clear since I have the bad one in October. I wonder why. I thought maybe when the meds were out of my system, I may feel normal, but no luck!

When I first started taking the Epitol, I felt GREAT, the closest to being clear, and very energetic and happy. Now, I really dont know what to do. I am still not driving. I cant comprehend some things when I read now, my eyes sight isnt as good and my memory either. My memory is better than on the meds though. I wonder what feeling normal is anymore.I feel dizzy a lot and lightheaded, almost like im drunk. my sight will go funny, like blurry for a second. But, every since the big one, my headaches have seemed to mostly go away; I would get severe ones. I also seem to have this weird thing with my memories. like I cant stop thinking about things from the past, remembering things, just random, and thinking and dreaming about them. Its like that part of my brain and my emotions is screwed up ,lol. Its like i feel it. I hate being in a mental fog, to get no relief.

Im sorry guys, I gotta go, and get started cleaning and getting things done for the day, but I hope to hear your thoughts and feelings on this, I need some feedback. I really dont know how to explain these things to the doctor. Maybe I can just write it on paper so I dont forget. I go back next month. Thank you ALL for being my sanity. ttyl :):):)

:hello: Kristina!

Welcome back and always good to see you!
Glad to know you are still alive! But I am also
curious have you had any recent EEG's since
being off the medications? Sometimes a change
of medications or better yet, have you considered
the possibilities of entering into Neurofeedback option?
This might even benefit you even more!

Mr. Johnny Neurofeedbackseed here would be more
than happy to explain everything in detail here, after
all - he is the "Resident Neurofeedback Expert"...

But please do come back more often - we miss you!

:D

... I have stopped taking my meds because they stopped making me feel better.

I hope you didn't stop cold turkey. When weaning off of AEDs, you should titrate down slowly (just like you titrate up slowly).

... My mind is never really clear, and I wonder why.

Could be many things (high blood pressure, post-ictal haze, TIAs/strokes, mineral imbalance?, etc.). When my wife had a period of heavy seizure activity, it scrambled her cognitive functioning pretty bad. It took several months before she was back to normal (with help from neurofeedback).

... Now, I really dont know what to do.

I would suggest:
  1. Talk to your doctors
  2. http://www.coping-with-epilepsy.com/forums/f22/proactive-prescription-epilepsy-1254/
  3. neurofeedback (see link in my signature)

... I feel dizzy a lot and lightheaded, almost like im drunk. my sight will go funny, like blurry for a second.

Have you seen any doctors for cardiac or blood pressure issues?
