Hi all, with out seeking an official answer from a professional, I have a question. I go about two months without a seizure. Then for about a couple of days I have quite a few in a short period of time...........why?....thoughts?......thanks.

Don't know why, but mine seem to build up too. If I have them frequently, they are minor, but if I don't have one in a while, I will have one or two bad ones in a row.

Have you kept a seizure diary logging your eating, sleeping, & overall living habits as well as when you have seizures?

It might help you find what triggers your seizures.

Everyone has a different seizure pattern. Environmental, emotional, physiological factors help determine the pattern, but as the body changes, so can the pattern. Some people seize immediately in response to a stress. Others might not seize until the stress has passed. And if you're being treated by meds that will also play a role.

Mine are the same way. Like you I might go 2 months with out one and then, bang I have a few right in a row.

I know that alot of my sezs are brought on by stress. Usually if I'm in a stressful situation I will have one soon.

Before I got diagnosed and started meds, I could have several in a day and then go a few weeks with no seizures.
Since starting Keppra, I have gone as long as 6 months without a seizure and then just out of blue, I will have one. My neuro is really not sure why.

extreme thanks for thoughts........

Thanks very much I will try to keep a diary. That I know of off hand is there are no particular reasons why. No patterns, which is discouraging. I believe there is always the possibility of stress. I take Keppra and lamictal. Keppra really seemed to work after switching from depakote and lamictal. I wonder if an increase in Keppra might work. There is no way of knowing that I know of because there is no way of knowing the right level of Keppra. I would not like to increase that if that is not the reason? ...I take 1000 mg's daily.
