Usually I take 425 mg twice a day but lately I have been taking 425 mg three times a day. For awhile I was only taking 425 mg a day because I read you aren't supposed to take Magnesium within 4 hours of taking Synthroid (I have hypothyroidism). After getting constant headaches, having bad insomnia, muscle cramps, being moody, among other things, I decided to start taking the Magnesium three times a day. It definitly helped. I wish I had gotten tested for my Magnesium levels when I had all the symptoms of low Magnesium and then again after I started taking it three times a day. I still am tempted to pay out of pocket to get tested.

I dont take any magnesium. Whats it for? I take a vitamin B complex to help with the side effects of Keppra, along with a Calcium pill.

I am remaining migraine free on 250 mg of Jigsaw Magnesium. I take it in the a.m. I simply forget to take vitamins regularly in the evening. I need to make sure that Rebecca gets a minimum of 500 mg. I will work harder to make sure that happens.

I take one 140 mg capsule of Magnesium Citrate in the mornings. (Thorne is the brand, though I don't know if that matters). I started taking it for my blood pressure, and it definitely works for that. It's well-known to be neuroprotective.

I glad to read that magnesium is helping so many of you.

I have never hear about the need of magnesium.

I do not want to take another presc. medic. , However I feel i am on the edge of going into depression.

Is this something you would recommend (I know we all react diff.) or is this something I need to get levels for.

Just asking for your advise.

easy does it

Try adding some magnesium rich foods to your diet.

I disagree with the comment on that page Forward. Rebecca and I take more than 400 mg and we have never had issues.

I have hypothyroidism and seizures, too. I just "upped" my calcium and magnesium so that there's the 2:1 ratio and so I get slightly above the daily amount. I take this almost 12 hours from when I take my thyroid med. Well, I HAVE noticed that my muscles aren't so stiff and achy in the mornings. Not sure yet if it's helping with anything else, but I do know that there's a link between magnesium deficiency and seizures in some. When I was giving birth to our son, they had me on some kind of magnesium "drip" to keep me from having seizures due to preeclampsia.
