The title says it all. Any suggestions on how to keep a child up most of the night for an EEG? The EEG people said to keep him up all night, but I'm 95% sure that our pediatrician said that he could sleep some, so we're going to shoot for 3-4 hours. So any thoughts on how to keep him up until 2:00?

i love to run

Sugar, that might sound silly but if you give him sugar you increase his energy and he has to use it up some how.

Also try playing his favorite movies that you wouldn't otherwise play before bedtime because they make him too hyper lol. Try interspersing the movies with games that keep him moving - not so much that they tire him out, but just enough that he is not sitting idle. Take a walk with a flashlight outside and see how many trashcans neighbors have out by the road, how many stars you can count, or whatever. The fresh air will help keep you both awake. Good luck!!

When I was a child my parents and I watched some tv but as it got later they played games with me. I was 12 at the time so we played card games and scrabble. I would recommend games that either take a good amount of time or games that make them laugh. Then it doesn't seem so long. ;) good luck.
