Ok...that's an important piece of info to give the internist, because they may actually look at taking blood tests to see what your hormone levels are. If the hormones are triggering the FDGB's, then it may be treatable with the use of a hormone supplement. Possibly a cream. As for breakfast, it really is the most important meal of the day. A good breakfast, even for when you're in the motel is to get a yogurt (individual serving things can be gotten in gas stations, or in the student union at most colleges) and a piece of fruit. Remember, I said small meals. And yes, that counts as a meal. You see, if you don't eat a breakfast, you're more likely to wolf down food when you do get the chance to eat. And by wolfing it down, you're more likely to overeat. Also, by not eating breakfast, you trick your body into thinking that it's starving, so your body decides to store as much of what you eat as fat to protect itself. so if you're eating something everything every 2 hours...and I mean snacking like a piece of fruit, string cheese (also comes in individual packs), those individual nut packs, etc..then your body will quit panicing and won't store what you eat. Instead, it will burn it for fuel. I usually get those protein bars (works great for a breakfast on the go), string cheese, nut packets, fruit, and yogurts for snacks. But they work good when you're traveling and staying in motels too. Trust me, done it before. My lunches, I pack the night before...but I've got my family hooked on whole grain bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon. Good hearty meal, fills me up, and has plenty of protein. That and an apple, and I'm set.
Also, if you drink diet soda..stop. Honestly, there have been studies done that show that the artificial sweeteners in them can trigger seizures. Also, people who drink them are more likely to actually eat more sweets later, or to overeat. Why? Because when the brain registers the sweet taste it thinks it's going to get calories. When it doesn't it triggers the hunger response so that it will get the calories and the energy it got robbed of. So no diet sodas, and keep juices at a minimum. Juices tend to be loaded with sugar (unless you drink vegetable juices...but those can be loaded with salt, so look out.). I hope this helped.
