I Live In A Tri-Plex Apartment & I'm Limited On Things I Can Do inside through wintertime do to the walls of my apartment being very thin & not well insulated . Can anyone give me some good ideas for small crafts & projects to keep me occupied through witer? Please HELP ME WITH IDEAS! Thanks DAVE from Kentucky

Quiet with a Profit!

You can do quite a few constructive things,
such as getting ready for spring! Build some
birdhouses! They now have Kits, and instead
of using nails, you can use Super Glue or Nail
Glue. And get this .. WHY BE NORMAL?

Be outlandish! Go Decoupage! Grab some magazines
and cut out some roofs, and you can use Elmer's
Wood Glue and some water to glue it all down.
And yes, you can do both painting and Decoupage,
and later, with spray clear coat paint outside,
when it's dry, you can spray a coat, and bring it
inside and hang it in on a hanger over the shower
railing or use a fishing line and let it dry for a few
days. You'll be surprised later on, when the
neighbors will all be wanting to buy one!

Paint is cheap, you can purchase a set of
Acrylic Paint to use on this project, and it's the
clear coat that's odor free but will protect the wood
and your creative work that will make it quiet and
yet, a nicer neighborhood charmed with cute
little birdhouses!

OR better yet - buy some pottery or wooden
planters and get busy! Doing the same thing
as above (you don't have to decoupage those,
but you could on the wooden ones).

They'll make excellent gifts for Christmas/Holidays,
and your neighbors will be sure to be buying them
as well when "Spring comes".

Investing in several paint brushes of various sizes
if you don't have any, helps. but it will keep you
occupied and out of boredom!

To give you some ideas:

I've seen Decoupaged Birdhouses and Planters
of NASCAR (you know a NASCAR fan resides
there!) - Nuttin' but Humming birds - Flowers -
Wild things - Antique / Retro - Civil War Era, etc.

People buy them! They like the unique charm!

Not kidding here -- needlework like cross stitch is WONDERFUL!! It's easy to learn, not at all expensive to start and fascinating to get into.
It's what kept me going during VEEGs at the hospital.
Think about something like knitting or crochet too.

OOOPS ---- I just remembered those darn CATS - lol (I'm teasing -- you know I love cats) Cats can make it difficult - but even more fun - to do any sort of needlework !!

Hello, Dave
How about putting together a jigsaw puzzle that looks like a painting? Or buying a sketchbook & some art pencils? ~Ann T.

I find that crocheting and needlepoint use my time well. Plus I can actually use what I make. :)

just look at the pictures of the crafts they sell. You can usually figure out how to do the simple ones without actually purchasing the kits. And if you want something more complex you can always purchase one of the advanced kits
