My husband and I were with some friends last nite later a dinner, and they were serving two different wines with the meals and my husband asked me if I was going to drink some and I told him no. So my friend asked did I just wanna try a lil cuz she knows bout my seizures and I told her that I didn't feel comfrtable drinking any. So they both respected me.

That's really nice of her.

I have drank some without having any problems. If I do drink it's only a few times a year and it's usually only a glass of wine or maybe one mixed drink. I don't drink as much that I'd even come close to getting drunk or a little tipsy at that. But everyone is different with drinking.

My family doesn't say anything as long as I'm only having one drink but my friends actually yell at me and won't let me touch any alcohol when I'm with them!

My family doesn't want me to drink at all. My neuro suggested I go 6 months seizure free before drinking. I did have a beer a few weeks ago at home, though. I hydrated with a lot of extra water, and it tasted so good. Nothing happened. My fear is having a seizure, someone calling 911, them doing their usual tox screen if I'm not or barely conscious, and finding alcohol in my system and saying, "there you go, that's the cause" because I have complex partials and have been told I look like I'm "on something". Nice. But the one hospital stopped doing the tox screens because they know me now. Good or bad? :)

I'm glad they respected you, it's your choice to not drink and no one should push you otherwise.

I was really tempted to drink but I kept thinking bout if I did then that would lead to me having a seizure in front of everybody and that would be embarrassing.
