I need to vent and I hope you really don't mind .I'm in a mad mood because of this person.I have quite a few health problems and this person tells me I need to laugh at myself. I tell this this person when you have my health you'll have the right to tell me what to do. why does a person think think laughing at them self will make them feel better? It won't make anything go away the problems
I'm having there still there for ever. It seems everyone I know just about get's away with high blood pressure or diabetes and that is it in my family and it is controlled. People that have done drugs are as healthy as can be.I never did drugs as a kid but I have all kinds, of health problems.Epilepsy,Asthma,Afib(irregular heart beat, bradycardy, aarhthmia, arthritia allergies, asthma) That's just to name majority of them.I talked to someone about volunteering and he has to talk with someone because of my health problems.I want to get out and get involved somewere and I'm hoping I can.I feel useless.

You vent all you want, there is never a problem and YOU ARE NOT WORTHLESS
People have the weirdest ideas and they think they are being helpful saying such stupid things, what they do not realise is you are doing your best as it is and if laughing would cure things you would be doing it a long time ago. Never, Ever think you are worthless because you are not, far from it. If you were worthless, do you think you would look to see if you can volunteer.ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU ARE PRICELESS.

Wouldn't it be great if you could just "delete" well-meaning stupid statements from your brain right away? Or better yet, have a filter that would prevent such statements from reaching your ears in the first place.

Don't let the bozos get you down.

You are a force to be reckoned with, pay no attention to stupidity even though they may mean well. I like Nakamova's idea about the filter.

Hmm, my question is why do you let it get to you, Belinda? You know there will be ignorant people out there with stupidity on their minds. I would not of even given it a second thought. I know there is not much to smile about with all the conditions you have, but still you must know that laughter is the best medicine. So don't gloat over it, move on to something more pleasant and something that can put a smile on you.

Good luck with the volunteering work!

Cheers,

I think its not that it gets to Belinda5000 but like me annoys her a lot, people thinking they know what is best for you and will as they say "fix it or cure it". Laughter is the best medicine but how do you see the funny side of that. Just wondering.

Hey Fedup,

Me i'm a positive person, so i believe in sticks and stones may brake my bones, but words will never hurt me. Words can only hurt you if you let them.

It got to her, since she was in such a bad mood. Maybe she took it wrong. If you let others mess with your phyci then you are loosing the battle. Use your logic to understand that stupid people will do stupid things and say even stupider things. Sometimes in the name of humor. My point is, is it worth to ruin your day because of someones ignorant comment. Laughing it off as being just that, can do wonders.

Cheers,

:piano: :pop:

I am a positive person as well or at lest I try to be, you are right words can only hurt you but I have to say they do hurt and I get angry. Not as good as you are my friend and I mean that.

Your both great and I do let people get to much.

I did have person come to me, today and commend me.I was commended:twocents: for coming out in public because of my seizures, it was a friend he meant well.He knows I'm not ashamed of seizures and I just say that's life when I have one.

I think there could be a whole thread about stupid things well meaning nincompoops say about epilepsy.

What I would add to that list is people telling me how wonderful it is that "despite my condition" I have still done things like graduate from college and have career.

Zolt is right though, you've gotta laugh it off. They are the ones looking like dorks. Just walk away smiling.

oh yes....we could all go on and on and on im sure if we were to repeat some of the weirdest things that people have said to us that they thought were just so "helpful"...my boyfriend thinks he can actually "scare" my seizures away...lol.....I love him to death but come on...we have had some pretty big fights and debates over my epilepsy in the past...so we have to agree to just not talk about it much....I just can't handle ppl thinking they know more about my condition and my body than I do who isn't a doctor.....and doesn't at least experience some of the same symptoms.....it just gets me instant pissed.....
