I'm looking for info about what peoples Nocturnal Complex Partials look like-how you behave, automatisms etc (how can you tell them apart from just normal tossing and turning during sleep or sleepwalking) Also extremely curious as to whether these things happen at the same general time every night?

Also do you tend to have them during naps too? Or is a an evening related thing? Thanks!

Hi, i have complex seizures at night, i usually play with my nose and face. I also repetedly grab at my blanket. My eyes do roll back into my head sometimes. I have video taped mine. I have up to 5 every night. Mine are worse during naps. I am currently in the emergency department for having 5 secondary generalised seizures. I have lost 48 hours of memory :/ They are talking about surgery for my left teporal lobe epilepsy :/ my seizures occur every night and make me tired. Mine happen all night at no particular time. I have no memory of them at all. I no they are seizures because they are identical to my day ones. They are typical temporal lobe seizures.

Oh Deemo i am so sorry to hear you are having such a rough time :( I hope they find a good solution for you. It is temporal lobe ones that i am wondering about too, but right temporal. Are your eyes open at night when you are doing it?

Yes my eyes are open. It looks like i am awake. Have you recorded any yet? I set a camera up in my room. I did not even realise i had them during sleep until last week. I thought the meds were working. Are you on any treatment? Im on keppra, lamictal and clonazepam for my LTLE. I hope they find a solution. They should do a video eeg for you.

I have a camera on my daughter (it's her not me :) ) and she had a video EEG 2.5 years ago but she was tiny thing and things have changed since then unfortunately. I'm not entirely sure they are complex partials, she does a lot of odd things at night i am discovering, and sets off the camera (its sensitive to motion and then records for 60 seconds) about 100-150 times a night on average. She definitely touches her face a lot, and a number of nights now (i have only been taping for 7) she sits up for no apparent reason. We can't see her face or anything because of the camera angle but she seems to be very still and then lays back down again. Weird. She's not on meds right now but that may be about to change. Especially since i just caught what appears to be a very short clonic seizure during sleep

Can you show her neurologist? I sit up sometimes. I look confused and grab things. The way i knew i wasnt just waking up was i waved to the camera if i was ok. People have told me to put the footage on youtube to show a complex partial but they are really embarrasing :/ I hope you gey answers it really sux not knowing. Is she really tired like she feels like she hasnt slept when she wakes up? Thats how i started suspecting i was having them during the night.
