Hey I've been having this thing going on with my right hand--it was really tingling like it's falling/fallen asleep, but then got super hard to move my fingers--I could barely move them for a while.I wasn't laying on my arm, I was up and moving around. I can move them again but it's still tingling a little. I'm assuming it's probably some kind of seizure but I've never had one like this before. Anyone??

Hi,
I'm sorry to hear that. I was going to say that I've had tingling limbs before and I've had my hands stiffen up and go into a claw like position before a big partial seizure. I hope you're all recovered x

It went into a myoclonic type seizure--it went from the hand thing to face twitching to jerking bilaterally for 30 minutes. I have no idea if it was some type of partial or some type of myoclonic type of event end to end since I'm suppose to have both epilepsy syndromes. I'm constantly confused :-) Thanks Angelita

Oh no, that sounds horrible! I'm in the middle of being diagnosed, so at the moment all I know for sure is I have partials, but I've had lots of other symptoms whilst I've been awake too so I'm just waiting to see my Neuro to get refered. When I was in hospital I had one of my facial muscle contractions last for about 30 minutes so I understand. If it's anything new or different I would get in touch with your Doctor/Epi nurse just in case. Keep your chin up chicken and rest up :)

I been getting that all week! but I noticed sometimes that's all I get but usually it's beforehand a partial seizure. but that was my question of the week too! sorry to hear of your seizure though!! :(

My dr said she thought it was a side effect of Topamax or anxiety. I said "Oh ok." I've been on Topamax for 9 months and know the difference between tingling and the inability to move fingers no matter how hard I try and I'm nearly 50 and know that anxiety doesn't do that either. But there was really no reason to argue or get defensive. I started Keppra yesterday and am hopeful I will get better control. Enough said.
