This makes about the 4th time the weather service has been right since they have predicted snow for us.

3 years ago when I hurt my shoulder really bad was one time 1993 when entire east coast was hit with snow.

My dog was looking out the window bewildered at the snow.
:twocents::e:

I've been trying to find a day with decent weather to drop an engine into my little truck. This Sunday it almost hit 60. I quickly swapped the alternator out of the big truck and went to get the engine hoist. Nope. Neighbor wasn't answering. Now that its back down, thats not gonna happen. Heres to some temperatures hopefully above freezing...

Enjoy the snow. We already had our fare share...

YES!!! It snowed here yesterday and last night. We had a high of 18 degrees and low below zero. Enjoy......... after all it IS winter!!!! :) C'mon, ya'll better get used to this freezin' weatha and don't go pitchin' a fit!! ;)

It might be winter but Georgia doesn't get weather like this.
There have been a lot of morons who tried driving yesterday on black ice and there were wrecks like crazy. I'm in the SE we don't have equipment for this because this usually happens every 10-15 yrs.

We had a similar, but heavier snow a few weeks back. My truck handled it just fine, but the crews were already out and had things taken care of quickly.

Georgia just doesn't have the resources to handle this properly.

Great weather around this area Sunday. I live in West Central Il and we had 58 degree weather. I spent a lot of time walking with a friend. Was nice. :agree:

I lived in Greeley for about 5 years in my 20's and I remember how much snow you could get all at once. It did feel different than Il snow though. Il turns to ice more quickly which is why they start salting and plowing right away. I remember Greeley had a no plow law. I never had a problem getting around in my little Subaru. I loved it. I saw you were from Littleon so it was only 30 miles away but closer to the mountains. Nice place!

Yep, Colorado is a very nice place! And Subarus are the best type of cars for our type of weather. I used to have one. They are forecasting another blizzard for the Rockies starting tonight!

I lived in Memphis for 20 years (I was married to a FedEx pilot) and I have experienced ice storms. I could not believe the first time I experienced snow in the south and they closed down the city for 3 inches of snow! WHAT!!!! And no snow plows. Then I experienced my first ICE STORM down there. I would much rather experience snow on the roads than ice. :0

The governor closed down city of Atlanta And my county and other counties are in state of emergency now it's been declared.PPL are staying off the interstate .Kids were stuck at school last night buses couldn't get through.
Governor started salting rds a little late .

My DH didn't dare go into work today.:soap::agree:

I live in PA, a little north of Pittsburgh. In the winter it's always cold here.

I can't believe that they have had snow days was because it's too cold to go. The only time we had snow days when I was in school (I graduated in 1995) was when the roads were too bad for the buses to drive on them. Other than that, no matter what the temp was you went to school. Is this ridiculous or is it just me?

THey'd have snow days here because of all the ice on the roads, it's not just snow it's ice.

We don't have weather like up north very often, so we don't have many vehicles to clear ice away put sand down. There were wrecks like crazy on the inter state.

I can understand you guys having snow days Belinda for that reason, the snow and ice on the roads. But up here in PA canceling school because it's too cold is just stupid.

I saw on the news, I can't remember if it was in Atlanta or not, that a high way was all messed up because the cars couldn't move on it because of the snow and ice. I think they said it was 17 hours before the cars were able to start going again. They said that the stores off of the high way stayed open and let the people come in and spend the night there so they didn't have to stay all that time in their cars.

It's you being ridiculous down in the SE in Georgia we hardly ever get weather like this.
It was predicted for north of us in Athens not Atlanta and not South GA.
We don't have equipment for this weather because it happened once 3 yrs ago. The kids weren't able to get home from school because of the ice and all the backed up traffic on I-75.There making sure the roads are clear for the kids before they go back to school.
A lot of Morons drive on black ice and wreck because they don't pay attention to the roads. It's usually northerners that move down here if you want to be insulting.

Oh yes, we've got a ton of people who drive on black ice. They'll even go about 60mph on it!

We've got a really bad bend right by our house. I can't count how many times people have slid on the snow and ice that have ended up in our yard or took out the mail boxes. My parents have a store right by our house and the place has been wrecked into every few years.

Luckily no one's ever killed them selves but they end up in the ER a good bit.

There was one wreck a few winters ago that the car went around that bend, came way into the yard, took out the mail boxes on the other side of the road and did a 180 and ended up in the neighbors drive way on the other side of the road. His car looked like it backed perfectly into the driveway and some how missed the neighbors truck, how he did that was amazing.

I live in Boulder CO now (pretty close to Greeley Penny!) And It. Just. Won't. Stop. Snowing. Ugh--Well over a foot now! Cabin fevering over here!

We might get a wintry mix this afternoon. :D

With the 70 degree temps on Friday we aren't expecting any accumulations. Now that's my kind of snow!

And I'm down in Littleton with the temp of 5 degrees this morning. Sunshine today and more snow with lows below 0 later this week.

BTW--- Too bad the super bowl isn't here in Denver. GO BRONCOS!!

Don't blame you for skipping work at all Belinda. I would have too. :D

I understand what you guys went thru, it happens on occassion here in Dallas too, but not in that magnitude. Our governor has never closed a whole city before. I'm guessing yours could have thought up a better plan to stagger those closings a little, making the roads less congested. I bet the whole terrible ordeal was a learning experience and eye opener for the cities affected. Live and learn I guess.

Last month we were iced in and the kids got a Friday and a Monday off of school. What a long weekend that was! I'm glad I'd done my grocery shopping the day before! Especially since we were almost out of toilet paper, ack!!!

Boooo ice. Bring me warm sunshine any day!

I'm ready for spring it got up to 71 yesterday.

I'm just not meant for cold weather I get bronchitis.
