The past couple of nights I really havnt slept well. Im tired, but for some reason I am not getting a good night's sleep. Im waking up, tossing and turning, and when the alarm goes off in the morning, I feel so dead! I noticed yesterday that my chin/jaw area felt bruised like. It hurt when I touched it. Its felt that way again today, and then I noticed I had bit my tounge on the right side. Ive taken ibupophen today for the pain, but I keep thinking back to why the heck would I wake up with this pain and then find out I bit my tounge. Ive always had a headache and felt tired and sluggish after having a seizure, and I havnt had a headache today. I was tired, but not really tired like I have been after a seizure.

Im trying to determine If I should call my neurologist's office to let them know of this. I dont know if this was caused my a seizure in my sleep, or what.

What would you do? :ponder:

Hi Kristin.. If you think this is way out of your usual seizure pattern as far as post ictal phase it would probably be a good idea to call. If you call, than at least maybe your doctor could relieve some of the worry or stress you may be feeling whether it was a seizure or not.
Hope tonight brings more restful sleep.

Make a note of it to tell your neuro. If it was a seizure, do you think it might be a fluke thing, or do you think it might mean your meds need to be adjusted? Either way, I'm sorry it happened.

Well my medication has been controlling things pretty good for me. Ive been on Keppra XR alone, since May 2011. The only time Ive seen any seizures, is due to lack of sleep. If I recall right, it was in January I think, when I had the seizures at night, and notified my dr about it, who said to try taking melatonin at night to sleep better. I havnt had a good nights rest the last two nights. It was yesterday that my jaw and chin area ached, which continued today, and thats when I noticed the bite mark on my tounge. So I dont know what to think of it. Ive always had a headache after I had a seizure though, I just feel really tired and sluggish. Today I felt tired, but not "dead tired" how i normally feel after a seizure. I;ll see what tomorrow brings for me. Hopefully I can get a good nights sleep tonight!

Thanks everyone for the replies! :)
