Have any of you noticed a correlation between your meds and joint inflammation? I have had the usual minor aches and pains for a while now, but things have gotten more achy since I started Vimpat and Dilantin. I'm off Dilantin now, but I still take Vimpat. Anyway, the places I'm feeling it are my ankles, knees, wrists/thumbs, lower back, and neck. My joints have also become more creaky/crunchy. For example, when I wake in the morning, sitting up causes a series of 5-6 pops in my lower back. My other joints have always had a certain degree of crunchiness, but it's worse now, especially in the wrists and elbows.

What do you think--possible medication issue? Or am I just getting more creaky?

Hmm, well I am on both Lamictal and Vimpat, so maybe it's coming from the Lamictal. I'll ask my doc what he thinks on Tuesday.

I've had epilepsy for almost 10 years now and was crunchy before and after. In the last 5 years I started having pain in my back and legs. I found out that it was do to a problem that I had in my back.
