I am seeing that a lot of people are on Keppra now. When I first started taking it no one had even heard of it and they had no clue how it worked, it just did.

My question is ...... I am seeing a lot of people on Keppra for petit mal seizures on here. Keppra has never helped me with a petit mal and I just live with then because I refuse to take any other meds. I was told by my doctor that Keppra does little to no good for petit mals as well and that if I wanted them controlled he would have to test me on other medications.

Is anyone here taking Keppra only and noticed a reduction in petit mals? I am still getting anywhere between 20 and 40 of them per day with my Keppra and that is what I normally have. I have cut back to only taking the Keppra at night but if it will assist in the petit mals as well than I may take them during the day as well.

I have nocturnal grandmals so I only having them when I go to sleep, hence why I only take it at night. Has helped a lot with my appetite. I get a normal appetite for dinner then I take my medicine.

I'm on 3000mg Keppra a day, its reduced the amount of tonic clonic seizures I have but it does little to nothing for my partials and absences. Been trying to find another med to add on which will help. Tried lamictal and Vimpat, now moving onto Tegretol.

Im on 2500mgs of Keppra Currently. I will be seeing my dr on wednesday to discuss what to do next... but so far Ive had pretty good luck with the Keppra. Ive been on the Keppra alone for about three weeks now. I have simple partial seizures. Ive noticed I am still having numbness and tingling in my hands and feet, and on the 11th day i had a seizure I had like during my VEEG in March.

So I dont know if the Keppra is going to hold me over or what they will do next.

my son has been on keppra for 4 yrs and he has been doing very well with it. His doctor tried to add topamax but he went seizure crazy
so keppra is good
