Is Klonopin a drug that causes Osteoporosis? Other than drowsiness it seem fine also how long until it may slow or stop seizures?

Thanks,

John

I don't know if Klonopin is a med that can cause osteo or not John...as for seizure cessation, as with any of the aeds, your milage will vary according to the individual. Klonopin had no affect on my seizures at all but it wasn't prescribed for seizures when given to me...since my neuro was absolutely positive I was having psychogenic seizures he prescribed the klonopin as an anti-anxiety med for me.

John, Klonopin isn't on my research list of threatening osteo drugs, but most AEDs interfere with the absorption or metabolism of Calcium and Vitamin D, which are both considered natural bone strengtheners. So any person taking anti-seizure drugs — whether male or female — should get at least 1,200 MG of Calcium per day and at least 1,200 IU of Vitamin D a day. This includes young children who are also highly vulnerable.

Thanks Phylis,

I always worry about drug side effects at one point after a car wreck I was on 13 prescriptions and just started refusing to take most of them because of all bad interactions!
