Last week my GP jumped on prescribing Dilantin, I got scared and want something else.

I've been on lamictal in the past for bipolar type 2.

He said no at first, but then said he would do some research and get back to me.

Is anyone on just Lamictal?

I was on Lamotrigine last year. It disagreed with me so I changed to Tegretol
:)

Tegretol and I do not get along. I was only on 300mgs a day too.

Yes, yes we are :)

I've been on Lamictal and lamotrigine before, so until something with fewer side effects comes along....I'll take the ones I think I can work through.

I'm on just Lamotrigine (the generic of Lamictal). My dose is relatively small (150mg/day), the side effects are more or less tolerable, and I'm over 4 years seizure-free.

I just take Lamotrigne - 150 pill in the morning an 150 pill in the evenings. I find it good but once a month I will get a partial because I am so sleepy, irriatated, stressed. But other than that no grand mals in my sleep so I'm happy! And I don't even feel like I am taking it. I feel great...best I felt since I was a teenager.

Thanks!!

I took 150 mgs previously, so I am glad to hear that the dose is working for you.

I am really hoping to not have to give up my job after taking a 6 month break. It's tough enough being self employed, it's always harder having to start over with your entire client base.
