I have no idea why I'm writing this in a thread because it's not abnormal per se, or seizure related (I think). I guess because it's strange and I dont' understand it. I'm interested in your thoughts on the subject.

I have some things happening that are normal things for a body to do, but they are all happening on my left-hand side, which makes it strange. I'm getting muscle cramps on my left-hand side, I bite my tongue at night on my LH side, I am having excruciating headaches on the LH side of my head, when I walk I pull slightly to the left and end up bumping into the wall (like a car out of alignment). Odd. All normal things, but strange when all of it is on the LH side.

If it was seizure or a brain problem the RIGHT hand side of my head would have the headaches as the LEFT side of my body is doing all that stuff. (the RH side of the brain controls the LH side of the body, and visa versa)

Comments?

Hmmm... thats interesting why everything is occuring on the left side. Have you been under any stress lately? Or been on any new medications?

When I was being switched back and fourth between medications during March through May, I had alot of weird symptoms that were on my left and right side. Some days they would appear on my right, and some on my left.... I have left temporal lobe epilepsy, so all my seizure movements occur on my right side, Turning of my head to my right, jerking on my right side, etc. But I get the numbness and tingling feelings on my left side.

Interesting...

My dosage of Diamox has been increased. I have right temporal lobe epilepsy.

It could be from the increase in the medication. Has this started around the time you increased the medication? I noticed when I was on Vimpat and Lamictal, anytime I increased the medications, new side effects came about, or the side effects I had prior would get worse.

I started making a diary when I was being switched to and from medications. Anything "New" I was feeling, I would date it and write it down. Then after getting off the medications, I looked back and realized at what points things changed. Something always came about when I was increasing my dose.

My seizures originate on the right side of my head (and quickly generalize). In the year leading up to my very first seizures, the left side of my body would tense up -- it wasn't jerking, it wasn't stiffness or paralysis, but it was an uncomfortable tension sometimes in my leg and foot, sometimes in my shoulder and hand. My neurologist says it wasn't seizure activity because I could more or less stop it. I do think it wasn't exactly a seizure, but was related to abnormal firings on the right side of my brain. So that could be the case for you too Endless.

I see headaches are listed as a side effect of Diamox. Are you having anything listed in the serious or severe side effects?

Such as......

Diamox Oral Side Effects
Dizziness, lightheadedness, and an increased amount of urine may occur, especially during the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. Blurred vision, dry mouth, drowsiness, loss of appetite, stomach upset, headache and tiredness may also occur. If any of these symptoms persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist.

Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.

Tell your doctor immediately if any of these very unlikely but serious side effects occur: increased body hair, hearing loss, ringing in the ears, unusual tiredness, persistent nausea/vomiting, severe stomach/abdominal pain.

Seek immediate medical attention if any of these unlikely but very serious side effects occur: easy bleeding/bruising, fast/irregular heartbeat, signs of infection (e.g., fever, persistent sore throat), mental/mood changes (e.g., confusion, difficulty concentrating), severe muscle cramps/pain, tingling of the hands/feet, blood in the urine, dark urine, painful urination, yellowing of the eyes/skin.

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction may include: blisters/sores in the mouth, rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

This is not a complete list of possible side effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

I already have much of the "serious" list. Lamictal plus diamox plus seizures plus IIH equals a heck of a lot going on with a person's body. I'd put "lol..." here but I'm not really laughing.
