I had my EEG yesterday and it wasn't as bad as I thought. The glue though was gross feeling after and she used a dull pencil to mark the spots on my head which hurt. But all in all it was alright.

She had me sit up, which is good because if I'd have standed I would have likely fallen over. My head started spinning and my vision started to get dark. Happens to me every once in a while. Quite a bit but not nearly as much as yesterday. After I'd been sitting a couple minutes she had me stand and instantly I had to sit back down. Got all dizzy and such as soon as I stood up.

She even asked if I was dizzy before I could say anything. And for some reason for the rest of the day I was getting that feeling. The head full of pressure but feels like you're kind of spinning and the blind spots.

It didn't just happen when I would stand up, it happened when I would like drink my soda too. It happened a LOT yesterday. Now I feel back to normal though.

I'm not anemic, I don't have high blood pressure but I do have low blood pressure. At the doctors office it was 90/60. So I've always assumed the low blood pressure was the reason for the light headedness but it was beyond normal yesterday and happening while I was drinking soda as well.

So I'm wondering if anyone else got the light headedness and such for the day they had their EEG, if it was normal for it to be extreme? I had to take a nap when I got home (like a two hour nap) and still continued to feel like that until I went to bed.

Oh and

I just quit my job on Tuesday. The place was absolutely horrible and unprofessional but I stuck around for my medical insurance. I only worked enough to cover my insurance. Until my manager forgot to turn in my papers and my insurance got cancelled, so I quit. I don't have insurance any more so I wont be able to see the neuro again until May first when I can get it myself. So I'll talk to the neuro about it when I see him again but I wont be going in to see him any time soon. Thankfully my insurance was still active until last night at 11:59pm, got a EEG at the last minute :)

Did they do the hyperventilation and flashing lights parts of the EEG? And was it a sleep-deprived one? All of those can potentially mess with your system.

Also, did the soda have caffeine or aspartame? You might be sensitive to those stimulants, making things worse. One last thing -- being dehydrated can also cause light-headedness, and it's related to the low blood pressure. So make sure to get plenty of fluids (ideally, not sodas or caffeinated drinks though).

Sorry to hear about your job -- hopefully this means an opportunity to find a better one.
