"Dude" didn't show up until the NEXT generation began mangling the English language, hahaHaha plasticmask...can't forget the hey dudes too.
I'm not on any social media, unless you count this forum. What I hate about these modern times, is the adding of "ness" to everything. "quietness" rather than silence, "jewishness" rather than judaism, "wellness" instead of "health", it grates on my nerves like nails on a chalkboard. Even as a late deafened man, just reading such garbage makes me flinch and wonder how many of these people actually made it through school. Also makes me grateful that at least I don't have to LISTEN to it any longer. I tell you with authority: SILENCE IS GOLDEN.the real biggest thing that bothers me, is the homogenization of the human language. we really are all starting to sound alike. a big chunk of this is caused by people wanting to blend in with what they deem is acceptable in modern society. but the biggest factors are the internet and television. they have made the world a much smaller place. i always have to wonder if people are joking when they refer to the fifth horseman of the apocalypse as "social media"
