So I finally got my appt with Stanford on Monday! I'm not sure what's going to happen since they have my EEG results and history. I don't know if it's just going to be a meet and greet type of thing or if they're going to try to prescribe any E meds.

If they do prescribe or talk about the meds, what kinds of questions should I ask?
I know that people have good reactions to some drugs and others have horrible ones. Should I just listen to what they say and wing it with whatever they give me?

Glad you were able to get an appointment, hope it all goes as planned, and you get the answers you're looking for! :)

If they suggest meds, they should give you a choice of more than one kind. If so, then you should ask what the differences between the meds are in terms of ramping-up schedule, dosage schedule (how many times a day), side effects, and cost (is a generic available or recommended). If they particularly recommend one medication over another, ask them why they think it's a good fit for you. They should tell how and when to get in touch with them if you have any additional questions or concerns, especially regarding side effects or symptoms.

Whatever med you go with, be open-minded. It may or may not work for you, there's just no way to know until you try it.

I've been there and done this with many different meds.

If you don't feel right or are having side effects while taking the meds let your neuro know. He might tell you that it's something normal that happens while you are taking the med or he might change the med because he doesn't feel that it's something that you should be taking.
