Hi Guys,

I was just wondering :ponder: how do you guys space out your medication? For example if I take them 8am should I take them 8pm? I am trying to find good timing that might help with my seizures as I heard that the timing is important.

Timing is important. What works for you? I take mine at 9a and 9p because I go to bed at 9p and I am at work before 9a. On weekends that I sleep past 9, it isn't long after that I get up, so the chances of me not taking it or forgetting it are slim.

If the 8s work for you, than go with that. Heh.. time to take my meds....

I just found out that timing is important. I never really gave it any thought before. Thank you for the advice. So best spacing is 12 hours? Yeah I am going to do 8am and 8pm from now on I have set up alarms lol

I have my phone alarm set. Being forgetful I make sure the ring is annoying as possible so other people say, "what the hell was that?" That way if I forgot, they will remind me.

I also keep a bunch of medicine in my backpack which I take with me everywhere. I remember to leave it on top of everything so I know I took it. By the end of the day, the bottles have worked their way back down, and that's how I know I have taken my meds. :D

Haha great tips! I have my phone set up as well. I always have extra in my bag as well it helps.

I take mine four times a day, too. I also use a pill box with A.M., Noon, P.M., and Bedtime pill slots to help me remember. They are individual days so I can go day by day and won't have to worry about hearing an annoying alarm reminding me to take my meds.

I have a pill box too it helps me remember that I actually took it lol. My mother has epilepsy too but she's had it over 20 years I am still new to all this. She usually takes her around 7-8am and 10pm

I've had E for over 30 years and I still need a pill to help me remember to take my daily meds. I take two anti-seizure meds, too.

I was taking mine at 5AM and 5PM but really don't like getting up at 5am on days off just to take meds so I am gradually changing the time, hoping to get to 7 or 8 AM and PM.

I have a four-time-a-day pill box that I set up weekly. I take my e meds at around 6 am and 6 pm.

I'd be lost (more lost) without a pill box. When you take pills everyday, it's impossible to remember if you took a particular dose or not.

I take prescription meds twice a day and have a box for morning pills and a box for evening pills.

6-8 months ago I felt like I was super healthy and fell like I've gone to hell pretty fast. :(

I take my 500 mg. Keppra with my morning coffee and my 500 at night with dinner. Easy pezzy!

I take my morning dose of Lamotrigine at 7:30 or 8:00am, and my evening dose at 6:00pm. But it differs for each person depending on the medication and their sensitivity to any fluctuations in med levels. For instance, Keppra has a short half-life, so it can be more important for some folks to take that at the 12 hour interval.

When I took meds 3x a day 6AM, 12PM, 6PM works good for me. But for 2x a day I
find 5AM & 5PM work perfect for me.

I definitely use a weekly pill box.

I got a pill box after I couldn't remember if I took my meds or not and ended up looking at the calendar and counting what was left in the bottle. Don't forget about what you eat and when you eat it. My food intake at certain times really helps with the side effects. This morning I didn't eat early enough before my meds and am now paying for it.

I know well about the 'ol pill box. If I didn't have one of those who knows if I would live through the week :dontknow: Usually each day once or twice I will wonder if I forgot the drugs, and go look in the box... night is better cause the box is supposed to be empty. And I can't imagine going more than twice a day. How many times would I have to actually count through the day?

I take my meds in the am and pm roughly around 8 oclock each end and that's all my meds, E, Bipolar, PTSD and Stroke meds. I dish them out once a week in an EXTRA LARGE med box lol.

Penny, did your seizures start after your stroke?
