I feel like the side effects of the meds are worst than having the simple partial seizures. So far I've been on Lamictal, Keppra and now Trileptal. All of them caused memory issues, speech problems, made me feel tired. Lamictal also gave me horrible acne. Keppra made me very irritable and the most tired out of the 3. The Trileptal is causing me to gain weight. What other meds have you tried?

I take Keppra XR and Carbatrol ER. I was only taking Keppra XR for awhile, but kept having break through seizures. The simple partial seizures at night and during the day. At the age of 17 up through the age of 29, I was on Keppra and Carbatrol. When I had my VEEG my neuro only put me back on the Keppra. He is now the OLD neuro... long story short I had to get a second opinion. This new neuro who I started seeing in March, said if the Carbatrol worked for me then, he doesnt see why I cant go back on it. So, Im on a low dose of the Carbatrol, 200mgs in the AM and 200mgs in the PM along with the Keppra XR. For me, it worked wonders. No more seizures! :) Thats one drug you can look into to see if it might help for you.
