Hi all,

Does anyone here uses two or three meds to controll the same type of seizures instead of controlling two different type of seizures?

Yep. I take Lamictal and Keppra, and I have.mostly simple partials with secondary generalization. The purpose for me is to control the partials so they don't generalize. I think my neurologist wants to drop the Keppra eventually though once I'm on a steady dose of the Lamictal.

i am on tegretol and keppra for tonic clonic... they control well but the side effects are terrible! i think being on 2 doubles the side effects

are you going on 2 meds?

I take dilantin and clonazepam (generic for Klonopin)
I have absence/Partials seizures.

These two meds. have my seizure under control more than any I taken in my whole life.

Hi

My 5 year old is on jeopardy, fridium, tegretol CR tablets and tiagabine.

He has absence seizures.

Hi!
My 7 year old daughter is on Topamax and Keppra. Topamax for her Tonic Clonic and Keppra for her aura's.

I'm already on 2 meds (keppra and depakote) but the depakote barely does something except giving me a worse tiredness than keppra alone in the same dosage combined so you're probably right about the double side effects thing, but an epiliptologist told me it's not always the case.

Now I'm gonna ask for topamax again instead of the depakote although it messed with my imagination abillities and yet it din't make me tired and actually controlled some of my triggers so maybe it's worth a try.

Thank you for all the replies.

Am I expecting too much when I want full controll although my seizures usually would last one second tops except rare cases where it lasts two and the only thing I can't have in my life is driver license or move fast like breakdancing since it makes me nervous which is also a trigger for me?

For me, I haven't gone to long before another seizure.
My Seizures seem be caused by one of my triggers..example I'can't stay up late at night. I will have a seiz.
If I take some meds. like vitamins or some other meds. these effect my seiz.

Having said that it was last Oct. when I had my last size urge, this was caused from a new meds. my NEW Neur. put m on.

Hope this helps you in some way.

I have only one type of seizures-complex partials, but I take three different meds-keppra, lamictal, and vimpat. They are still not totally controlled, so most likely when I see my neurologist in a few weeks he will change the dosages or try something new.

For the last 8 years I've been on at less 2 Anti Epilepsy meds to help control my Auras/complex partials. At the moment I take Tegretol & Keppra.
