I see my psych on Wed.. I have not been sleeping well for awhile again. This can not only affect my seizures but my Bipolar too. I have been on Trazadone once and Seroquel once too for sleep. Have any of you ever used either for sleep or know anything about their interactions with antiseizure meds. I have been trying to look stuff up but Im not having luck. Im just getting so stressed from lack of sleep. Im debating on telling him or my nuero next week when I see him. lol :noevil:

Sleeping pills are helpful for sleep, and like most drugs also have side effects like morning sleepiness. Trazadone is known as a pretty safe drug, and its one of the ones that are less likely to interact with your meds. What's the reason you are no longer on it?

Everybody is different in how they react to any medication. I'm glad you are seeing your psych. Hopefully he'll have ideas on what are the best meds for you.

I went off it months ago when I went on Remron (anti-depressant) that helped me sleep really well. I changed nuerologists after that and my new one wanted me off it right away as side effects are strokes, high cholesteral and seizuers. All of which I have suffered. So I have not been on any sleep meds since and I have to be careful what I take. I have bipolar 1 which is the most complicated and hardest to treat. I rarely take over counter meds. I just know I HAVE to sleep again! lol

I was on Trazadone for sleep and it was really effective for me. An on call doc thought it may have contributed to some breakthrough seizures I had a week or so ago, but my regular neuro did not agree and felt it was safe, so there are two conflicting opinions, which I realize doesn't help much! I was taking it every night though. Good luck and let us know what you learn--I hope you get it figured out Penny.

I take 2mg klonipin every night for sleep prescribed by a sleep specialist. It works great and my neurologist is pleased that that is what he prescribed.
