Curious to hear... do you get memory blanks that aren't seizures?

Ususally if I'm just inattentive or distracted, I can tell you what I was thinking about. I'm talking about time that's totally a blank.

I'd love to hear an answer of "yes." Otherwise I had another CP this morning while walking the dog. One minute we're out on the grass, the next second standing in front of the front door. I didn't have a feeling of lost time, but there it was.

Only a few no seizure related blanks in my youth but they were alcohol induced....I don't think those count.

I would love to help you out, but I'm new to the game of "what's a siezure, what's not" and haven't learned all the rules. I do however lose periods of time without feeling like I've had a siezure. Is that a siezure? I dunno... But at least you know your not alone!

Just a couple of days ago I was sitting on the computer when my friend said something to me. I heard every word except for one in the middle of the sentence. I asked her to repeat so I did & didn't hear another word but forgot what she'd said the first time. Even hearing what she said I had to repeat it in my mind to understand the words.

I've recently been told by a professional that I might be having seizures & not be aware of them so I had to wonder if that's exactly what was happening then even though I didn't feel any of the normal sensations I associate with seizures.

Exactly, Eric. I suspect the same. Especially at night.

You know, it wouldn't have even registered with me that anything happened, except I couldn't remember if I walked long enough for the dog to pee, or whether he did at all. This is important because I love my carpet, which would be less than pristine if he didn't go outside. Anyway, I realized I remembered walking out onto the lawn and standing there for a minute, but didn't remember if he did anything or us walking back to the front door. Darn it.

Lol yes....

But its because I get distracted lol. I start thinking about something, or reading something on my phone. Or replying to this on CWE. Cuz I totally just did it! Phone rang, I answered, they asked for someone. I said I'd page them. Put the phone down. Paged the person. Went back to replying and the looked at the phone blinking, going "did I page yet?" Lol turns out I did. But I couldn't remember

It wouldn't have registered with me either except my friend got a bit impatient. I also remember reading CWE that night (what I was doing when I had trouble hearing her) but I don't remember a thing that I read from CWE.

I have all kinds of extreme memory problems.Blanking out seems to be one of them.My son would appear beside me or I would be in another room-my epi said they were complex partials but I had auras with those.I also have blanking out with no aura-I found some interesting reading under wikipedia for transient epileptic amnesia-that and the ALF and the autobiographical amnesia have all happened with me.
