I thought this was pretty cool so I wanted to share it.
Thanks toehinOWHEN for sharing that you were listening to Tony Anderson. I checked his music out and found it fascinating.
For kicks I sent Tony a email. Telling him I found out about his music from my new friend from Nigeria on an epilepsy chat room.

He responded the next morning.
Kevin, this was such a wonderful note to get. Thanks for sending it. I wonder what it is about my music and its help with epilepsy. Any ideas? Is it calming to the central nervous system? I’m not sure what causes epilepsy. If you could fill me in more, we can discover more about what exactly my music does to work within the body.
You’re the man! Thanks Kevin!

So far, I have to say the one that does it for me is " Face of the father"

But I also really like " Something grows", and there was a third but I can't think now.. mind blank

Anyway I now want his cd for Christmas

Oh Wow I’m thrilled you reached out to Tony and even got a reply! I’ve never even reached out to him before.
It’s amazing how music connects us from all over the world. So glad you enjoyed his work too 😊

I had a hunch that he might appreciate hearing that his music is helpful.
The unique manner that I hear of his music was a cool story too.😎

Thank you hahaha
All of this is just simply awesome. Us connecting like this on different levels. I’m glad I found this forum. It has helped distract me and cope better with current events happening in my journey.
🫂❤️

How did you originally hear of his music

What's the story?

ehinOWHEN had posted about Tony Anderson.
I emailed Tony saying I discovered his music from a Coping with Epilepsy forum. I told him I was in Boston and the other person (my new friend ) was from Nigeria.
I was feeling really good that afternoon. I completely fluffed up the email. I did some name dropping 😅. I told him I had recently participated in research at Harvard and MIT. I also mentioned a friend’s son at Berklee College of Music. All true, but I don’t know anything about the research. 😉

Haha sounds like you were really excited.
Sleeping has been a struggle for me the past few days so I tend to listen to his music. I'd recommend, Aureth’s - Wasteland, and green to blue, and Scott Buckley’s - I walk with ghosts. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.

Hahaha I seem to be having an influence musically on you guys on here. Who would have thought?🤭

And Kevin how could I forget? you should try listening to Gibran Alcocer as well. All his songs are just perfect for me. Idea 22, Idea 10, Idea 20. In fact just click any of the "idea" you see. They have different versions as well, Slow and reverbed, sped up. Whatever rocks your boat. I hope to get a positive feedback as I got from Tony’s recommendation. Haha🤭✌️🏿

Listening to Idea 10 now. It’s wonderful. Thanks!
I might put on my headphones and close my eyes listening before bed tonight.

Is there any way we can make this thread... well, visible at the top?

We're discussing all these people and they are a great resource. It would be nice if newer members could easily find a list..

Just a thought

I liked Idea 10

Unfortunately all I could find was that and idea22

I'm assuming he has them all from 0 to what ever number

Not sure about a top of the forum rmusic suggestion thread. I like it though 👍
I looked up more on Tony and yes he kept numbering his compositions Idea 1, Idea 2. etc…into the 20’s. Looks like he has others as well.
✌️

I guess I'll keep looking

I am also curious.. why idea 1, idea 2, idea 3 etc.

It just seems an odd name to call something.. maybe it's just me though

Yeah this is a really good approach. Can this be done?

I'm weird haha so I kinda like it to be honest. I'd rather put much thought to the intricacies of the actual music than the name. And Gibran did just that. 👌🏾

Does anyone know the music of Paul brooks?

I used to have an 8 cd set of his stuff (and I regret giving it away!)

Basically he takes songs that we know and love, (could be anything from the theme to titanic to tears in heaven by erric clapton), and he makes them instrumental

Sometimes he adds sounds of the shore and seagulls which is nice. The CD I used to have contained different themes on each disk

Yesterday, I was listening to music, and they played something quite calming I never heard of (I didn't know what it was, and it was all instrumental)

Anyway, the song was around three minutes long, and it was a melody with bird sounds in the background- truly beautiful

After the guy doing the radio said that was elaine and the sweet people (or I think it was something like that), but I really thought it was nice. I am going to see if I can find it and post a link here
