asking how I was doing since Ive returned home from having the VEEG.
I told her about the seizures that occured saturday, the day after I got home, which I had 6 in about a 45 minute or so time spand. She sounded suprised. She asked if I was on medication, which I said, Keppra XR. But that none of the seizures has since occured since saturday, but I have had the feeling of auras and numbing/tingling feelings in the middle of the night... around 3-4am. I wake up with these feelings and move around to try to get it to go away. She sounded suprised that I havnt had any seizures the past 4 days now. Yesterday I recieved papers from the psych dr. Im suppose to feel out some papers and take them with me on friday when I have my appointment. I cant believe the questions they ask! If you have anything "Major" happen in the last year, and they have a list of stuff you can choose from... like someone dieing, or a birth of a child, etc.

The only thing I could check off was being hospitalized for my VEEG last week. Im just so eager to see what will all be said about these seizures that took place while I was doing the VEEG. Then they happened on saturday too while I was home, but nothing since then.

My gut is telling me from what Ive researched is that they are simple partial seizures, because I was consious through out the entire seizure, and had the stomach pain, tingling-numbness in my hands and feet before the seizure took place, and also had the aura feeling before it happened. I felt really sad before the seizure would hit too. Then I had the jerking all over, which then had the numbness intensify all through out my body, especially my face. The seizure would end and I would go back to being my normal self again.

I am going to bring some papers I printed off, that I can point out to this dr all of what I experienced and how I think they were the simple partial seizures. I havnt had anymore since saturday, so the Keppra XR must be working! [/U]

Thanks for the update, Mom.

I'm glad the VEEG is over! And I'm glad you are feeling a little better. At least for the last 4 days. Will you let us know how your dr's appt goes? I hope he has good info for you.

:)

Thanks Endless! :)

I will let you know how it goes. I go to see the psych dr on friday at 10am, and my next follow up appointment with my neurologist is May 25th.

I agree they sounds more like partials than PNES. I hope your appointment with the psych doctor goes well. Will you be going on your own, or can you bring someone along?

My Neurologist said I couldnt drive for a couple of weeks, so my husband took the day off and will be coming with me to the appointment.

That's good -- it's nice to have someone to back you up.

Yeah, he said he would take me, but he hates to hear about seizures, so he doesnt want to come with me into the room to talk to the dr. Which doesnt bother me at all. He is just not comfortable hearing about seizures and what takes place during them.

Best of luck at your appointment! Is this going to be a neuro phsyc exam? I had one of those, and MAN did I feel totally stupid afterwards! I think that they figured my IQ was extremely low.....interesting since I manage to hold a full time job, take care of a husband and home, drive a car....you know all the "normal" stuff :) What was the real kicker was when I would miss something on the exam and I would ask them what the answer was supposed to be. She would just smile and tell me "no, I can't tell you that. There may come a time when you will need to be tested again." RIGHT, like I am going to REMEMBER the answer from 5 years ago :roflmao:

I have no idea if I will ge tested for anything yet. They called this morning to remind me of the appointment. I am eager to see what this dr has to say about the different seizures I experienced.
