So i decided to take someone's advice and put an epilepsy fact as my profile for everyday of november. Here is what I put so far.


November 1, 2010: Today begins Epilepsy Awareness Month! For the next 30 days I will post a fact about epilepsy. Day 1: Epilepsy is a disorder affecting 1000 in 100,000 people. That's more than breast cancer, cerebal palsy and autism combined. Plus, those 3 illnesses can suffer seizures due to the disorder directly or treatment. Support Epilepsy Awareness.

later that day: Get Seizure Smart! Take this quiz to see if your up to par to help someone if you see them having a seizure. http://www.epilepsyfoundation.org/neam/

November 2, 2010: Day 2: Epileptic seizures are caused by abnormal electrical discharges in the brain. They are NOT caused by demon possession, not following a religion, sex before marriage, or dunking your oreos in milk. It is a health condition, not a societal condition.

[And I'm so relieved. Now I can dunk my oreos in milk without worrying about the consequences. I had been dunking them in whiskey.]
 
If sex before marriage doesn't cause seizures, any chance it might help prevent them?

Is is really all about breast? Even as a man I am insulted the public sheeplessly following the adverts.
 
I want to say Thanks, I will definitely be 'stealing' some of yours. Of course, I do have a lot of my own that I am gong to post as well...
 
Day 3: Never put anything into the mouth of a person seizing. It is impossible for them to swallow their tongue. You will just end up injuring them or yourself. You can break teeth or cause them to choke, block airways or make them inhale fluids. Be seizure smart. Help me raise awareness!
