Not getting enough sleep is a huge seizure trigger for me. Usually if I don't get my normal ammount of sleep I'll end up having a seizure.

If I understood it right it was your friend who started this post? She did this because she cares about you and wants to learn more about epilepsy, which is good. The more people know about it then the better they understand and can maybe even give you some help.

I don't get embarrased after a seizure. I'll usually make a joke about some of the things that I do and everyone gets a good laugh. I'm a pretty funny and out going person in general though.

Maybe try telling everyone in your class that you weren't feeling good and that's why you haven't been in class. The day after a seizure I'll feel like crap and just sleep all day. They'll probably believe it.

Not taking the pescribed ammount of medicine could cause problems. I'm assuming that since you were buying pills off of other people then you were taking more than you should. Dr's give you a certain 'rescipe' of meds to keep things right.

If you're afraid of driving then don't drive!!!! I haven't driven in 9 years and I hate it but I'd rather have other other people get me from here to there rather than driving myself and end up wrecking the car and maybe killing someone.

I'm not a religous person at all and I also hate it when 'I'll pray for you' or 'God is with you' and other things like that are said to me. I just say thank you and move on to another subject or even say good bye to the person and walk away so I don't have to hear any more of it.

Hang in there!

Go to class, tell them you had a seizure and what they would need to do if you, or anyone, had one. Then move on and take your test. My son had his first noticeable seizure in a packed church on Easter. Then we called the first responders to church. And an ambulance. If he can go back to church, you can go back to Spanish class. Hasta luego. See, I'm even helping you study for your test! :-)

I made it back to class today. Was very awkward for me, everyone was like telling me they were really worried and stuff. Glad it's over, hopefully monday is easier :)

My spanish instructor and classmates have been emailing me, and some of it kind of freaks me out: "May the Lord Bless You and Keep You. May His Face shine on You and give you Peace."

Don't let this freak you out, it's a standard quote from the Old Testament of the Judaeo-Christian tradition, three or four thousand years old, called the Aaronic Blessing, not actually individually composed this week for you personally; and it really is not meant to hurt or scare you, or even try to convert you! In the context of spanish culture, it's a general wish for your good health to be taken care of. If that student does believe in God (and they're being a bit hypocritical dragging it in if they don't) then it's the most powerful thing s/he has to give you, so try and accept it graciously even if you feel it's not your "thing". Can't see that it's going to do any harm.

And, well done for getting back to class. They will find some other news to gossip about, soon enough.
