Ok as you know I'm coming off my tegretol to see if I have another seizure or not. I have here tonights tegretol that was split in hlf, after this one tonight goodbye tegretol. Last time I came off it I went 3 months without a seizure then epilepsy showed it's ugly tonic clonic head. Fingers crossed this time I don't have another seizure ever again. If I do I'll say screw you epilepsy. You'd think I'd be nervous but I'm not, I'm excited. I'll be watching my dog now for any signs from him that I'm going to have one, he's not a seizure alert dog but I've heard they don't have to be seizure alert dogs to detect seizures. He's a pet and my best friend. I trust him. Must get sow pics of Buddy on here, that's his name. This it is guys.

I'm excited for you, and envious. :) Good luck, and enjoy your med-free, seizure-free time!

I'll keep the forum updated. A life without seizures is the outcome we want but what we get we don't know because epilepsy is so predictable, not. We can't predict what it will do. I call epilepsy mr unpredictable.

Good luck, hope it goes smoothly for you. I've been re-reading the epilepsy bit of that first aid course we did back at Garden Needs just to be on the safe side. But hopefully will never need it and your seizures will be gone for good.

Being off tegretol might ake m implant work properly too. A certain somebody we know acted as if epilepsy is a great funn joke today didn't she, oh if she's found on the floor somewhere just push her head back for me, when did she forget epilepsy is no joking matter lol. Can't wait for the break from tegretol.

Crossing all my crossables for you. I hope coming off is successful for you and it's the end of your seizures.

Good luck, i hope you can remain seizure free of the Tegretol.

I was on Tegretol from 2002 until 2013, when my neurologist took me of the Tegretol we did it very slowly. He 1st reduced the Tegretol in March 2012, I was kept on that dose until March 2013 then he took me of the rest of the Tegretol over 2 months. I took my last Tegretol at the end of April. I am still on Keppra & will be on at less one med but hopefully a lower dose for the rest of my life.

I'm so happy for you coming off Tegretol and wish you the best.
I've been on Tegretol and it's just one of the few meds that help control me some.:hugs:
