My stay in the EMU

I was admitted into the EMU yesterday to have some testing done for possibly getting an RNS or something else. They said that I'll be in here between 5 and 7 days. I'm laying in a hospital bed with a million little probes glued to my head. This hospital bed isn't that comfortable either, I always remembered them being comfortable.

They reduced my meds and I had two seizures yesterday. They are going to keep coming down on my my meds while I'm here hoping that I'll have more.

I haven't had any seizures today but I had a CAT scan. I didn't do much more than sleep today, those seizures wore me out.

Wait and find out what happens tomorrow now.

That doesn't sound fun at all. Hopefully they'll catch some good into and discharge you early. Sorry your bed is uncomfortable.

Definitely not fun. It’s good that they have been able to capture a few seizures already.

I’m 6’4”
When I was at MGH in Boston. They got me an extended bed the Boston Celtics player’s used. It was nice.

I've had five seizures so far in the three days that I've been in here. They are going to start me back on my meds today and probably aren't going to be keeping me in here for the full week. I'm hoping to talk to my neuro tomorrow to find out what's going on. So far it hasn't been too bad in here.

Sounds like they got the data that they needed. Glad you'll be back home soon. Hospitals are no fun IMO.

My stay was six days and I'm home now. Luckily the time seemed to go fast. The food was pretty good and the person who brought it always gave me an extra chocolate chip cookie, they were delicious.

I'll probably be going in for an SEEG. They said this will probably be a two week stay. Even more fun! Hopefully they'll get the info they need from this to find out about getting an RNS.
