Hello everyone. Been along time since I posted. I'm just putting a message out here for you all to keep my wife (LJBain) in your thoughts and prayers. She loves posting messages and the understanding support that this board offers her. On Sunday she was taken by Ambulance to the hospital where they Diaganosed her as being Status. She was having a siezure every 5 minutes for HOURS. They first tried to snow her by pumping her full of Ativan, but it wasnt slowing them down. They took her out of the ER and moved her into ICU where they have sedated her with Propofol and Versed, and they have intubated her in order to help her breathe and to be able to give her the keppra at the proper times. This afternoon they are doing the usual tests....eeg and ct. Not holding my breath as these tests have not shown anything in the past, but I guess the more often they do the tests the more chance of somthing showing up to maybe help them help her. I'm sure she will not mind me posting this for you to read. This place is her support group, and helps her to not feel so alone with what she is going through.

I'm so sorry to hear that and i hope the doctors manage to get it under control

*hugs for both of you*

I'll keep you in my thoughts

OMG!!!!! That’s horrible!! Is she still sedated? How is she doing now and how are you and your kids doing?

Please send our love and support to her and keep us updated.

Hang in there!!!

I just got back from seeing her and speaking with the doctor and the nurse. They have stopped the sedation and she is groggy but coming around. The kids are okay, we have a great support system of family and friends around us. They are starting her on tegretol on top of her keppra, we'll see if that helps. poor girl, I feel bad for her.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I'll mention it to her when I go back into the hospital tonight.

Jason

Jason...Thanks for the update. I am so thankful you have such a great support system. Please tell LJ hi when you are able. With caring thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry to hear this is going on. Hugs, prayers and more hugs being sent.

Im so sorry to hear this. Tell her we are all thinking of her and praying she gets better soon! I was on Carbatrol (another form of Tegrotal) and Keppra together for years. It worked very well for me. I will be praying it works well for her too!

Thank you for updating us

OMG that is terrible news. So sorry for you guys, this must be pure hell.
Jason to come on here and let all of us know- you are an amazing husband. Thank you so much. She is a treat to have on here and is always into researching and helping others.
Next time you see her please wrap your arms around her tight and give her one big hug from 'the gang at CWE.'

All my best to both of you! I will be thinking of her. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Thanks again everyone. Here's the update, EEG was clean, docs say she doesnt need the keppra or the tegrotol because they are not epileptic siezures. She is totally deflated and heartbroken. I feel so bad for the poor girl. She's still in the hospital, moving out of icu though. It's a really long road we've been on.
