Does this sound strange to anyone else?
We start out normal
something happens
They test us
They say we have seizures
They give us awful mind altering meds with psychotic side effects
They retest us
They decide we don't have seizures
They decrease our meds (which takes weeks to clear our systems, a fact ignored)
They say we're crazy
And send in a shrink
I see an awful lot of they's, which is contradictory to them telling us these are psychosomatic/psychogenic...
I just can't get a grasp on this type of healthcare. As an RN, I want to believe in the good in doctors. An intrinsic desire to help people. ??? I'm concerned that epilepsy and seizures are as much a puzzle to the doctors as it is to us. Scary thoughts. But to put patients through this ringer, is in my mind, equatable to torture! Its disheartening.
